Lucky for you, NYSERDA’s Green Jobs /Green NY program is making it easier than ever to find out what is going on with your home by offering free home performance energy audits whenever it is performed with a partner company like ours. The energy audit produces a valuable report explaining any issues found at your home, including recommendations to retrofit your house. Following these recommendations will turn into great energy savings. To help you follow up with these recommendations, NYSERDA also  offers you grants and low interest loans to fund the home improvements, whenever such improvements are performed by a partner company like ours. The end result is a greener home, good for the economy, great for the environment, and fantastic for your pocket.

So What is an energy Audit?

A home energy audit is the first step in making your home more efficient.

An energy audit allow us to assess how much energy your home uses and evaluate what measures to take to improve efficiency. But remember, audits alone don't save energy. You need to implement the recommended improvements. We provide extensive information from the report to help you understand which home improvement projects can be of greater benefit in lowering your energy usage.

We also go through simple behavior modifications to enhance energy efficiency, lower utility bills, and increase comfort in your home. The actual energy audit is comprised of a visual inspection, combustion safety testing, a blower door test and review of one full year of energy bills.  The blower door test determinate the areas of air leakage of your home.

The data gathered during the audit of your home is then inserted into our energy calculating software which will help us determine solutions and the effectiveness and energy saving that can be expected after such measures are conducted.  Typical measures include air sealing, insulation, and when applicable, the replacement of HVAC and Hot Water Heating Appliances.

The energy audit we conduct and the following home efficiency improvement work performed by us is always focused on safety. Rule number one when making a home more efficient is to first do no harm.  We are dedicated in developing and maintaining a healthy home.

Energy efficiency measures can be translated into real dollar savings.  With the present incentives available through the Home Performance with Energy Star Program, there is a significant opportunity for a timely return on investment.

We look forward in working with you through all the steps of the process and encourage you to take advantage of all the incentives available to you.
